City officials, along with users and staff of the current Colorado Springs Senior Center, bid the old facility farewell Friday and viewed a video and renderings of the new Senior Center. Construction on the new building is scheduled to start in August and take 18-24 months.The City used $8 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds for the project.

Mt. Cutler Trailhead now open, improvements completed
The Mt. Cutler Trailhead parking lot, located on North Cheyenne Canyon Road is open following the expansion and paving of the former gravel lot. Improvements include asphalt paving in addition to adding curb and gutter, signage, and defined parking spaces.
Swearing-In Ceremony for the 42nd Mayor of Colorado Springs
Yemi Mobolade will take the oath of office and become Colorado Springs’ 42nd mayor on Tuesday, June 6 at 10 a.m. on the south side of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, 215 S. Tejon Street. 30th Street Reopens After Year-Long Closure
After a year-long closure between Gateway Road and Fontanero Street, 30th Street is open to the public. Garden of the Gods Park, including the Visitor and Nature Center, is now accessible via Garden of the Gods Road to the north and Fontanero Street to the south on 30th Street.
