K9 Riggs’ vest is sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Jovi”. 

The Colorado Springs Fire Department is implementing a first-ever for the department Special Operations Unit. This newly created position will carry out several duties including drone operations, public information officer support, incident safety officer, and health and wellness officer.

Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) made history this summer with a record number of boardings. Fixed-route boardings increased by 243,547 during June and July 2023 as compared to the same period last year. July boardings set the all-time record for the most passenger trips in a single month.  

The Office of Accessibility works under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to include people with disabilities by removing barriers so everyone can access public resources.

Colorado Springs City Council voted to refer a TABOR retention question to the November ballot. It is now up to the voters whether $4.75 million in excess TABOR revenue will go toward a new police training academy or not.
