Update
As part of the ongoing investigation into the fatal crash that occurred on October 29, 2020, at South Academy Boulevard and Hancock Expressway, the Colorado Springs Police Department Major Crash Team has identified the suspect driver. Detectives are looking for the whereabouts of 27-year-old Miguel Ulice Solis-Zuniga, who is believed to be the driver of the 1990 block Chevrolet Silverado that fatally struck 52-year-old Rosalinda Jacquez. He now has an active arrest warrant for felony hit and run.
Mr. Solis-Zuniga has connections, as well as a work history, with construction/dry wall businesses in Colorado Springs. Detectives believe he may still be in the area. Mr. Solis-Zuniga is described as being approximately 5’08” tall, 168lbs with black hair, and brown eyes.
If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of Mr. Solis-Zuniga, please immediately call 9-1-1. Do not attempt to detain, approach, or take him into custody. In addition to calling 9-1-1, community members can also call Crime Stoppers at (719) 634-STOP (7867) to remain anonymous.

On 10/29/2020, at approximately 12:13 A.M., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) was notified of a serious crash at the intersection of South Academy Boulevard and Hancock Expressway. Officers and personnel from the Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived on scene and determined the sole occupant of a Honda sedan was. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash, a Chevrolet pick-up truck, fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of first responders. The Major Crash Team responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation into this incident.
The initial investigation determined that the Honda, being driven by 52-year-old Rosalinda Jacquez of Colorado Springs, was northbound on South Academy Boulevard and was attempting a left-hand turn onto westbound Hancock Expressway when she was struck by the Chevrolet which was southbound on South Academy Boulevard. Excessive speed on the part of the truck is suspected and evidence on scene points to the possibility that alcohol impairment may have been a factor as well.
The pick-up truck is described as a 1990 black Chevrolet Silverado extended cab truck with construction equipment in the bed. The driver who ran from the scene is described as a Hispanic male, with a medium build, possibly in his late 30’s, wearing dark clothing. He may have an injury that is causing him to limp, as well as possible facial injuries resulting from the crash.
Ms. Jacquez is the 40th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year while at this time last year there were 38 traffic fatalities. There were 42 total traffic fatalities in 2019 in Colorado Springs.
