On October 2, 2020, at approximately 10:10 P.M., Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officers responded to a report of a disturbance near the intersection of Delta Drive and Hancock Expressway. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a deceased adult female in the roadway and an adult male with serious injuries. The injured male is not a suspect in the death of the adult female. Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives from CSPD’s Homicide/Assault Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
On October 5, 2020, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the deceased female. The female was identified as 37-year-old Chasta Rogers of Colorado Springs. Ms. Rogers’ death is being investigated as a homicide and continues to be an active investigation.
The CSPD is asking for assistance from the public in regards to this homicide investigation. Detectives are trying to identify possible witnesses to the disturbance. The possible witnesses would have been at the 7-11 located at 2350 Hancock Expressway on October 2, 2020, around 10 P.M. Photographs of the possible witnesses and the vehicle they arrived in are attached to this news release. Detectives are also asking for assistance in locating a vehicle of interest in regard to this investigation. The vehicle may be a Toyota Corolla.
