On April 25, 2021, at approximately 3:16 A.M., officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a shooting call for service in the 2100 block of Delta Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they located a deceased adult male with an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives from CSPD’s Homicide/Assault Unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
On April 26, 2021, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the male victim. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Quatrel Weeden of Colorado Springs. While the Coroner’s Office will make the official cause and manner of death determination, this death is being investigated as a homicide and continues to be an active investigation. Further details will be released in the future as appropriate.
Mr. Weeden’s death is the ninth homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2021. The CSPD investigated 18 homicides at this time last year.
