On February 24, 2023, at 6:49 p.m., members of the Colorado Springs Police Department, Stetson Hills Division, were dispatched to the 5100 block of N Powers Boulevard regarding a single-vehicle traffic crash involving an ejection. The ejected passenger was deceased on the scene. On February 27, 2023, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy of the deceased person. That person has been identified as 18-year-old Deyancie Parsons of Colorado Springs. This is the ninth fatal traffic crash in Colorado Springs this year. At the same time last year, there were three fatal traffic crashes in Colorado Springs. In the past 365 days, there have been 62 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs. There have not been any arrests made in this investigation at this time. Speed is a possible factor in this investigation. The investigation is still ongoing.

On 02/24/2023 at 6:49 PM, members of the Colorado Springs Police Department, Stetson Hills Division, were dispatched to the 5100 block of N Powers Blvd regarding a single vehicle traffic crash involving a fatality. Upon arrival officers determined a single vehicle traveling south on Powers Blvd lost control, left the roadway and rolled over ejecting one of the passengers. The passenger was deceased on scene. Due to the nature of the crash the Major Crash team was notified and responded to assume the investigation. It is too early in the investigation to determine if speed or alcohol are factors in this crash.
