Update
On Thursday, May 4, 2023, detectives from the Homicide Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Murder in the First Degree for 19-year-old Bryce Daniels. Mr. Daniels had been identified as the suspect involved in the death of Jesse Schiele that occurred on April 29, 2023.
On Friday, May 5, 2023, officers of the Colorado Springs Police Department placed Mr. Daniels in custody without incident. A mugshot of Mr. Daniels is currently not available but will be released at a later date.

On Saturday, April 29, 2023, at approximately 7:13 pm, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Communication Center received a call for service regarding a shooting near the 1100 block of South Nevada Avenue. Officers responded to the area and located a deceased adult male on the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded and assumed responsibility of the investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made.
